This is an authentic vintage Gres Paris silk scarf dating most likely to the 1970s.  The scarf features a wonderful exotic flower design - maybe lilies, I’m not sure.  It is printed in colours of maroon, brown, lilac, purple, turquoise and yellow against white.  The border is printed at the bottom right with “Gres Paris”.  The border is hand rolled and hand finished in a yellow gold colour.  The original label is still affixed, which reads “All Silk Made in Italy”.  Madame Gres was a legendary Paris fashion designer, one of the last haute couture houses to produce pret-a-porter, which Madame Gres considered a “prostitution”.  Her client list included the Duchess of Windsor, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo and Jackie Kennedy.  She sold her brand to a Japanese buyer in the 1980s.

Condition:  It is in excellent condition with no pulls, stains or odours. This scarf looks to have seen little to no use.
